Design Principles for Mobile Soundwalk Applications
The idea behind this project was to add a layer of awareness to the society, and also to enable people to practice listening more often and a bit closer rather than just walking through space and focusing on their digital devices. Also, to enable more people to create rather than just consume content.
In the early stage of this project, I created a prototype. But, after planning, conducting, and analyzing user test studies from the prototype and 4 other existing applications (Foundsounds, Echoes, Podwalk, and Recho) the findings concluded that the users are not being provided with an engaging user experience. First, it was hard to see my work not passing the user test, but it was then whereby conducting a qualitative research, and a co-design workshop I executed a set of design principle to improve the user experience of location-based mobile applications.
